Seven different drivers exchanged the lead a total of 12 times in the 1983 Northwestern Bank 400. The caution flag waved 7 times for 49 laps. It was a good day for the beer companies. Budweiser had their name on the first and second place cars. Miller’s name was on the second place car. The #9 Coors car driven by Bill Elliott finished 6th. And Tim Richmond came in 11th in the Old Milwaukee #27.
